ואמליכו יתבי ירושלם ית אחזיהו בריה זעירא באתרוהי ארום כלהון קדמאי קטלו משריתא דאתא עם ערבאי למשרית פלשתאי ואפריקאי ומלך אחזיה בר יהורם מליך שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk yhwrm br akhzyh wmlk wapryqay plshthay lmshryth erbay em datha mshrytha qTlw qdmay klhwn arwm bathrwhy zeyra bryh akhzyhw yth yrwshlm ythby wamlykw
The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his place, because the band of men who came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the oldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

בר ארבעין ותרין שנין אחזיהו כד מלך ושתא חדא מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה עתליהו בת עמרי:
emry bth ethlyhw amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk khda wshtha mlk kd akhzyhw shnyn wthryn arbeyn br
Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

אוף הוא אזל בארחתיה אנשי בית אחאב ארום אמיה הות ממלכא יתיה לאתחיבא:
lathkhyba ythyh mmlka hwth amyh arwm akhab byth anshy barkhthyh azl hwa awp
He also walked in the ways of Ahab’s house, because his mother was his counselor in acting wickedly.

ועבד דביש קדם יי היכמה דעבדו אנשי בית אחאב מטול דאנון הוון ליה ממלכין בתר דמית אבוי לחבל ליה:
lyh lkhbl abwy dmyth bthr mmlkyn lyh hwwn danwn mTwl akhab byth anshy debdw hykmh yy qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as did Ahab’s house, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.

אוף במלכתהון אזל והליך עם יהורם בר אחאב מלכא דישראל לקרבא על חזאל מלכא דארם ברמות גלעד וקטלו ארמאי ית יורם:
ywrm yth armay wqTlw gled brmwth darm mlka khzal el lqrba dyshral mlka akhab br yhwrm em whlyk azl bmlkthhwn awp
He also followed their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.

ותב לאתסאה ביזרעאל ארום מחיא דמחוהי ברמתא באגחותיה עם חזאל מלכא דארם ועזריהו בר יהורם מליך שבטא דבית יהודה נחת למחמי ית יהורם בר אחאב ביזרעאל ארום מרע הוא:
hwa mre arwm byzreal akhab br yhwrm yth lmkhmy nkhth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk yhwrm br wezryhw darm mlka khzal em bagkhwthyh brmtha dmkhwhy mkhya arwm byzreal lathsah wthb
He returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

ומן קדם יי הות תוסקפת אחזיהו למיתי לות יהורם וכד אתא נפק עם יהורם לות יהוא בר נמשי דרביה אליהו על פום מימרא דיי לשיצאה ית בית אחאב:
akhab byth yth lshytsah dyy mymra pwm el alyhw drbyh nmshy br yhwa lwth yhwrm em npq atha wkd yhwrm lwth lmythy akhzyhw thwsqpth hwth yy qdm wmn
Now the destruction of Ahaziah was of God, in that he went to Joram; for when he had come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh had anointed to cut off Ahab’s house.

והוה כד אדין יהוא עם בית אחאב ואשכח ית רברבי יהודה ובני אחי אחזיהו משמשין לאחזיהו וקטלנון:
wqTlnwn lakhzyhw mshmshyn akhzyhw akhy wbny yhwdh rbrby yth washkkh akhab byth em yhwa adyn kd whwh
When Jehu was executing judgment on Ahab’s house, he found the princes of Judah and the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah serving Ahaziah, and killed them.

ותבע ית אחזיהו ואחדוהי והוא מטמר בשמרון ואתיוהי לות יהוא וקטלוהי וקברוהי ארום אמרו בריה דיהושפט הוא די תבע ית דחלתא דיי בכל לביה ולא אית לבית אחזיהו גבר די ליה חילא למיחד מלכותא:
mlkwtha lmykhd khyla lyh dy gbr akhzyhw lbyth ayth wla lbyh bkl dyy dkhltha yth thbe dy hwa dyhwshpT bryh amrw arwm wqbrwhy wqTlwhy yhwa lwth wathywhy bshmrwn mTmr whwa wakhdwhy akhzyhw yth wthbe
He sought Ahaziah, and they caught him (now he was hiding in Samaria), and they brought him to Jehu and killed him; and they buried him, for they said, “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Yahweh with all his heart.” The house of Ahaziah had no power to hold the kingdom.

ועתליהו אמיה דאחזיהו חמת ארום מית ברה וקמת וקטלת ית כל זרעא דמלכותא דלאנש בית יהודה:
yhwdh byth dlansh dmlkwtha zrea kl yth wqTlth wqmth brh myth arwm khmth dakhzyhw amyh wethlyhw
Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal offspring of the house of Judah.

ונסיבת יהושבעת ברת מלכא ית יואש בר אחזיהו די ילידת ליה צביה מן בארה דשבע וגניבת יתיה ממצע בני מלכא דאתקטילו ויהבת יתיה וית תורבנתיה בקודש קודשיא וטמרתיה יהושבעת ברת מלכא יהורם אתת יהוידע כהנא ארום היא הות אחתיה דאחזיהו מן קדם עתליהו ולא קטלתיה:
qTlthyh wla ethlyhw qdm mn dakhzyhw akhthyh hwth hya arwm khna yhwyde athth yhwrm mlka brth yhwshbeth wTmrthyh qwdshya bqwdsh thwrbnthyh wyth ythyh wyhbth dathqTylw mlka bny mmtse ythyh wgnybth dshbe barh mn tsbyh lyh ylydth dy akhzyhw br ywash yth mlka brth yhwshbeth wnsybth
But Jehoshabeath, the king’s daughter, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stealthily rescued him from among the king’s sons who were slain, and put him and his nurse in the bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah, so that she didn’t kill him.
